7 weeks today!

In 7 weeks, we will be landing in Sydney, Australia to start our newest family adventure. During our orientation to the exchange program in June, we were shown a graph that illustrates the emotional path of someone going on exchange, and I can attest to its accuracy so far. It looked like a very bumpy roller coaster during the 3 months leading up to the exchange. Being someone who is not used to a roller coaster of emotions, this has been quite a ride for me! I consider it good prep for the next part of the emotional journey illustrated in the same graph as climbing one of our beautiful Rocky Mountains, and then taking a free fall from the top. More on that when we make the actual plunge...

For the next 7 weeks, however, life goes on as usual - preparing for Christmas, piano lessons, volleyball, archery, homework, spending time with our community, and enjoying snowy activities while we can. Life as usual, with the knowledge of big change and big unknowns hurdling toward us in the very near future. We are very excited, and very scared, and depending which moment of the day you ask us that inevitable question that we frequently hear (i.e. are you excited? are you ready? when do you leave again?), you may hear variable answers in return. We are all of the above!
